Speculative Conjecture on a Superlative Conquest

As you all know, I have an injury and being me, I always want to help the team as much as I can. This time I decided to go to King's Lynn to see the game and support the gentlemen. The trip was sorted, with Rich to pick me up and Bhav to drop me back; but something happened and I wasn't able to go to the beach side.

I think this is what might have happened in the game though.

With some good players unavailable, i.e. Paresh, Graham, Stu, Mark, Pawson & I, and an Average player also unable to commit, MWons might have had to dig deeper to nail this match. But I think Captain Xabi must have said this: "We keep half press and play attacking hockey on the break. We use the width and help the defence." I am not sure (because I didn't go there as I am injured) but I guess we were twelve, with Oli and Matt stepping up two divisions!

Pelicans must have piled a lot of pressure but as our defence is pretty decent, I think we may have absorbed a lot of pressure and kept it nil-nil 'til about twenty minutes in.

Again, I am guessing here but it seems like we may have scored the first goal from a penalty corner. Spikey Mikey - I like that name - may have scored the first goal. One-nil.

Chris Pearson, Matt, Harry and Oli must have played well alongside Xabi in midfield; and a wild guess would be that Oli must have got the ball and run with it, passed it to Harry and then Chris P must have scored the second goal! I am not sure, but guessing here: as you know, I didn't end up going to Pelicans.

I know the King's Lynn gang; you see apart from playing hockey I also protect the community, being a police officer. So, I think, Pelicans must have lost their heads and surely picked up couple of green cards by now.

Half time must have come and gone, Xabi must have announced his broken foot injury by now.

We should have started the second half quite well; where Mike, Tom, Chris G and Bhav must have combined well with Rich in the midfield. I am sure, Rich must have kept a very cool head to make the attacking moves through the middle.

But I am sure that if Pelicans would have got a penalty corner then they would have scored. The score must have been two-one to the away side by ten minutes into the second half. This must have pumped the Pelicans and we might have picked up another injury or two. There might be blood involved by now. Something like this!

But if we would have gotten a penalty right then - I am guessing here again - we would have scored: Chris P must have drag flicked to make it three-one. MWons would have been in a very comfortable position by now. The match must have ended three-two, as I am sure Pelicans are capable of scoring one last goal.

Like always happens in classic movies, there might have been late drama too; maybe George was one-on-one with the Pelicans' striker and he could have made that crucial save to get us three away points!

All in all, it must have been a good victory, and I missed the scenes of twelve men going to King's Lynn and only ten making their way back uninjured. I can't wait to start hockey again once my injury gets sorted, and get to do some aerials in Div 2!
