Ipswich?

South traveled a long way (or was it a short way, I don't know the difference) to the middle of nowhere near some place called Naaarwich. Having enjoyed a warm up in the driving rain, we started positively and had a number of good opportunities to go ahead. Our defence looked strong and repelled any advances from the City players, two of whom definitely looked young enough to be still in primary school.

A nil-nil first half was probably fair on the balance of play, with Pearson and Lamming going close in attack and Jason making a number of good saves at the back.

Conceding two goals early in the second half knocked South back. In the frenzied ten minutes that followed, Kenzie picked up a green for asking too many personal questions of one umpire and Bhav joined the party (somehow avoiding a card) with some colourful tackles and clinical woodwork skills.

Pearson, on his hundredth game for the M1s, helped pull one back with a classic charge down the right wing and along the baseline, pulling it back for Graham to slot into the far corner. Sadly G's welcome return to the pitch was cut short after a nasty fall leading to a broken collarbone.

South finished strongly and tested Norwich a few more times before the final whistle, albeit confused by shouts of 'Ipswich!!' from Paresh, making some onlookers wonder if they'd come to the wrong pitch.

Graham picked up both awards for a solid goal and a not-so-solid set of bones. All eyes now on the next few games for some much needed points.
