M1 2-3 Dereham Mens 1

Oscar Serra

The M1 were coming from an undeserved lost the previous week against Ipswich ES 1, relegated team from the league above that won the match 3-2 despite South having the control of the ball and multitude of opportunities to change the script.

This time South M1 lads played their second match of the season against Dereham 1, another relegated team from the league above. Similar match, same result.

South had to face the match without the Commander of the squad (Sam Highfield), who was injured in the last game and had to watch the match from the bench. In fact, he “ran” up and down the touchline following the game (and the umpire) to the point that he probably ran even more than the Spaniard lad Oscar Serra, who was injured in the first 10 minutes.

Although everyone thought that the Commander of the squad will see a green card because of some disagreement with decisions of the umpire, in the end Goal Harrison got the green fine. Apparently, the umpire misunderstood Goal’s words addressed to a teammate, rather than towards the umpire.

Dereham took the lead and scored two goals in the first 20 minutes. Will Townley scored for South before the half-time. When South seemed to be ready to overcome the situation, Dereham scored again (1-3). Timothy Winter, South's most dangerous player, scored an amazing goal on the reverse for South and gave some hope to the team. Unfortunately, 10 minutes left were not enough to change the score and finally the result was 2-3, again.

For his injury, Oscar Serra got the Lemon the Match.

Timothy Winter got the Man of the Match for the goal on the reverse and for his good penetrations in the D.
