Rest day
Lou TonkinAnother weekend loaded with hockey, and two games of very different prospects.
Always one to exercise common sense, Loopy decided that Saturday would be a the day to rest, making sure she was at full fitness for Sunday’s challenge against one of the top teams in the league.
The plan worked perfectly; Loopy expertly allowed the defence to do all the work, and made sure she didn’t have to make a touch. There was one hairy moment, a ball in to the D that Loopy deftly allowed to pass harmlessly across the P-spot and out for a South ball. Genius.
At the other end, there were goals galore; it took a little while for the forwards to warm up, but inspired by Loopy’s tireless efforts in ensuring she did nothing, they gained in confidence and spent the second half ruthlessly peppering the UEA goal, notable moments being Izzy scoring a high quality dribbler, and Maddy shamelessly stealing a goal on the line.
A fantastic 7-0 win for the 1s to take in to the game against Ipswich 2s on Sunday, underpinned, as the whole team clearly agreed, by a bravura performance between the sticks. Just weird that they all seemed to get their MoM and LoM votes confused…
