Hattrick Rittman

Julie Sadler

The match preparation was slightly disrupted this week - Hattie was locked out earning boyfriend Will a few lemon votes from us (as well as the lemon award from the M5s). But Rosie secured the award for being unable to join the warmup line as there was a tiny tree in the way, outside of the Long Road pitch.

The match got underway and Ely started as the sharper of the two sides, with a very skilled striker one-touching the ball into the goal more than once despite the defensive line's best efforts. We kept working on playing our game though and the 1-2s started to flow leading to a classic Sarah Rittman tap in at the post. Towards the end of the first half Avi took a knock and went down hard - cue for those on the sidelines to frantically rummage through everyone's bags looking for inhalers. We were awarded a short corner as the half ended and with everyone up the ball went left for another Sarah tap in at the post!

The second half was similar - Avi fell over again, so did Rosie and Louisa and Julie, Ely scored a few more, Sarah got another goal for her hattrick.

POM votes were widespread reflecting a great effort from the whole team but Camille took it for her great play and solid tackling.

A tough match but it was good to be scoring goals again. Roll on next week!
