Plum's Out

Ben Amos

On a crisp Saturday afternoon perfect for a game of hockey. South took on Nomads in an emphatic game of hockey. The 4s mascot however (Plum the black Labrador) was denied entry to the grounds but promised to return for pints post game.

The game started with South putting in a shift with the forwards applying pressure to the Nomads defence which eventually broke with Jamie Coltman scoring the opener and with a strong defence South entered the break 1-0 up.

The second half was a far more ferocious affair with cards and warnings being handed out like hotcakes to help try to bring order to the brutality on the pitch. With Alex Pashley given a green card (which should have been the colour of blood) for his consistent deliberate offences and Ben Amos so hyped up he subbed on still wearing the subs bib which was nothing short of lemon worthy… never less the brutality on the pitch continued with Nomads putting every bit of their body on the line… yes every bit… and almost brought the game back with a short corner but thanks to some solid defending this effort was to no avail.

South emerged from the engagement on top with shots from Jo Dant ruled out it was only a matter of time until James Talmage scored a decider and claim MoM with a stunning performance.

South then headed to the Queen Edith to bask in another glorious win. With the mascot returning to enjoy a pint a pizza!! The 4s continue a great run of form which they hope to carry forward against Ely next week.
