You're joking - not another one

It’s official… we are now the team with the best (most) draws in the East hockey league! Take that Bedford 3s. Ipswich were the latest to suffer from one of Souths legendary draws with the game ending 2-2.

An end-to-end game started quickly with an early south goal, Blower putting away a ‘tidy’ short corner routine. Ipswich came back into the game and then pulled ahead before South got a late equaliser. Again through a short corner, Scott’s hit partially saved (and heading into the goal) before Sam tapped it in (later claiming an upright reverse).

Stanley put in a man of the match performance in goal after a string of smart saves. Especially in the first half when an Ipswich player found himself through on goal, Stanley stood tall and not only saved the shot but pushed it to safety, like a bear swatting away a pesky bee after his pot of honey.

It was also a game of firsts. With tensions high throughout the game, some let their emotions get the better of them. Tim and Blower having to sit on the naughty step for their first times at South and Mark picking up LOM for being the angriest man on the pitch. Luckily we managed to calm him down in the pub later by playing the IT box at our first stop on the pub crawl.
