L4 1-1 Kettering Ladies 2

Becky Donaldson

PROMPT: Generate a hockey match report in the style of a Taylor Swift song

RESULT:

(Verse 1)
In a chilly afternoon, under a fading sun,
Cambridge South L4s, our battle had begun.
Against Kettering, two spots above, they stood,
A clash in the hockey league, the atmosphere was good.

(Pre-Chorus)
At 4:30 we pushed back, a bit tardy on the scene,
Shree's rallying words, claimed victory serene.
"Piece of piss," she proclaimed, in the huddle we believed,
Inspired by 2s' triumph, our spirits were conceived.

(Chorus)
Oh, it was a hockey tale, a match so bold,
Forwards like Emily, Naomi, and Amelia, stories to be told.
The sun was in Kettering's favor, a sly play,
But our chances were plenty, in the golden fray.

(Verse 2)
Kettering seized the moment, beating two with grace,
Popping it in the goal, a challenging embrace.
Great runs from our trio, the game took its toll,
As fatigue set in, halftime took its toll.

(Pre-Chorus)
At the break, sweet moments and Coach Ed's wise decree,
Fueling our passion for the fight yet to be.

(Chorus)
Oh, it was a hockey tale, a clash intense,
Shree thwarting rockets, the lone player's defense.
Amelia's brilliance, a play divine,
Emily S scored, a moment to intertwine.

(Bridge)
Elle and Nic, their efforts profound,
The team hustling, chances all around.
Emily S and Becky, a comedic brawl,
LOM votes earned, a laughter-filled thrall.

(Verse 3)
Back in the game, Kettering's strategy bold,
Hitting it hard, frustrations unfold.
Yet, our resilience, a force untamed,
A draw in the end, the scoreboard proclaimed.

(Outro)
1-1, the final chord, a battle well-fought,
Shoutout to Lou Walker, in goal, she sought.
POM to Shree, the guardian of the gate,
LOM to Naomi, a mark of frustration (she slapped her thigh so hard it left a mark ), innate.

Oh, it was a hockey tale, with highs and lows,
A dramatic match, where victory (well, a draw)  arose.
In the style of Taylor, our story's spun,
A hockey anthem, forever to be sung.
