L4 2-5 Huntingdon & Northstowe Ladies 1

Lauren Dee

The game got off to a slow start on a slow pitch as South took their time getting used to the pace of the game, conceding a scrappy early goal. Not long after, a quickly taken free hit cut through the Huntingdon defense before they realised what had happened, and Kendra knocked the ball in after the keeper deflected an earlier shot into the fence.

Following a rejuvenating half time team talk the team came out reenergised for the second half, taking the play straight to the opposition with a renewed sense of focus. A slick series of passes following a tackle in the south D moved the ball swiftly up the pitch for Kendra to slot home for her second of the day, bringing the game back to 2-2.

The rest of the game remained very close fought, with chances for South put just wide of (or just over!) the goal , but Huntingdon managed to just edge out the defense, leaving the final score 5-2.
