We're Positive!

Following a tough start to the season,  South M4s have been steadily improving over the last few weeks and now finally getting the results we want, we are back on positive points!

From the off, the centre squad of Oli, Seb, Ali and Jordan dominated the midfield,  remaining a constant threat and controlling the game well. This led to several chances going just millimetres wide of the posts within the first few minutes and for the rest of the half, the Peterborough keeper doing an excellent job of stooped the ball going where it was supposed to. Ben made a couple of crucial saves as well in the South goal, including an unbelievable kick from the baseline directly to Jack's stick just the other side of the halfway line, turning the play around and suddenly creating a major threat from what could have been a dangerous situation.

The score remained at 0-0 at halftime,  but Peterborough were rattled, the constant press kept their defense struggling to get past our forward line, with Jack, Ollie and Jamie picking many up directly from the oppo 16s.

Peterborough finally broke and the first goal went to Ali: a top corner deflection in front of goal from a ball in from the 25. Exactly what we practiced at training.

A few minutes later, Joe slotted in a near post reverse, unfortunately disallowed due to a back-stick.Luckily, a penalty flick was awarded not long after, and Joe managed to redeem himself and slotted it cleanly away

Jack finished off the game with a dainty little  ballerina spin directly into the defenders foot, earning us another short. Quick injection straight to Ali top D, who sidesteps the runner and buries it just inside the back post.

Nice.

Tried some aerials. Didn't respect his elders.
