I’m torn.  Should I show that I’m annoyed at being LOM (again, and I was not the only one with a warning or GREEN card)?  But Danny (M3s) has that one covered already.  Or maybe I should continue reminiscing, as we did before the game, about the fun of a 90s hockey tour? But with a team more Gen Z than Gen X it’s probably not appropriate.  Maybe I should push on the GREEN theme, with a chat about how I’ve been spending my week looking at the hedgerows, woodland and ponds on the farm? But this is likely to produce more yawns than an attempted murder in plain sight, so let’s go with the last option with a comment on the game and how the team got on.  Unfortunately, after that download of my competing mental struggles, I can’t recall much of the game, so here are a few short thoughts:

• I loved how well Kaylee and Molly fitted into the team - Kaylee grabbing the ball from Ely, storming up into the D and finishing with the ball in the net; and Molly with her great tackles in midfield to stop Ely advancing.
• I always enjoy playing with Jasmine, Georgie and Luisa - all awesome players - very sorry that Luisa, who is always so determined to get to the ball first, collided with the goal, little finger first! I hope your finger recovers quickly!!
• Selene made some fab decisive saves and Tina some advance stopping tackles
• Jess and Vinnie were all over the Ely attackers in their screen positions
• Katie and Gemma had some brilliant mazy runs and certainly frustrated the Ely defence
• Steph and Hattie produced some strong crosses and attacks.

But team, whilst you all did some awesome tackling, quite a few of you also did some stick tackling, for which Jan could only see GREEN. For me, I only did one tackle, but even I had to admit it was a very GREEN one!

Roll on 3.30pm when the L3s go again and my only wish is that the opposition’s right wing is slow enough to let me make more than one tackle and let those tackles not be GREEN!
