It was always going to be a challenging game, with not only the normal start of season rusty-ness, but also a brand new team - many meeting each other for the first time on the pitch and many of us not having played hockey for some years!

Nonetheless we pulled together really well as a team and had a promising start. Thankfully (given the humidity on the day) the match was divided into three 20 minutes thirds, allowing us to chat through tactics and skills at each break with our very helpful supporters on the sidelines.

By the final third, everyone was much stronger at keeping position, sticking to a player and not chasing the ball and with everyone's efforts we only conceded one goal. Well done everyone, a great match to warm up for the start of the league next week!
