A Tale of Two Halves, Part 2

Jen Kingslake

The match started well with South making some lovely passes and creating a few attacking advances within the first ten minutes. We even managed to secure a short corner but sadly no goals were to be seen.

Huntingdon were quick to respond however and caught the South defence off guard with a well timed forward ball that a Huntingdon attacker ran on to and took full advantage of, creating a 1-0 lead. It was downhill from there and the Huntingdon goals kept coming with Huntingdon flooding the D and making it impossible for the goalie to see and for South to clear the ball. It became 5 - 0 by half time.

The half time chat focused South and the second half was much better following a switcheroo of positions. Lucy worked the middle well with both Vanessa and Steph really putting the effort in up front getting In front of players, running onto balls and causing the Huntingdon defenders some grief.

Meanwhile Meg was having a sterling game in defence, shooting down the attacks down the right from Huntingdon, and Naomi was created some lovely movement up the left. The second half ended with just one goal being conceded by South - yet another tale of two halves from the South 2s.
