RAMPANT ALL BLACKS INFLICT RECORD DEFEAT ON SOUTH AFRICA

COTS travelled all the way to the other side of town to take on City 4ths, whom we have not had the pleasure of playing against for a couple of seasons now. With Xabi taking on a new role for the team and Average disappearing from social media, Greyveling took over as the team captain. It's been a while since Greyveling last was captain and he had forgotten that games took place on Saturdays rather than Sundays and mistakenly took the team for a pleasant jog through the countryside.

However, the captain did win the toss and deservedly received one MOM vote for this. The team were very pleased that George was the keeper, as this meant he had to remove his awful top mentioning some place that lost during the curtain-raiser for the mighty Div 2N clash.

South started off with the ball and made several runs into the opposition circle. Boris was looking sharp with his new hair cut and Spikey was doing stuff, sometimes very well. COTS were settling into the game nicely.

The game was level at half time. Xabi said a few words at the break, however most of the team were excited about being able to get their hands on not one but two bags of sweets and were waiting anxiously for them to be passed on from player to player. Xabi mentioned something about how the Queen is associated with the monarchy but the sweets were more important and any wise words were lost.

Anyway, COTS carried on into the second half, now playing towards the other goal. This didn’t bother Archie because his feet were placed securely to the ground at all points. However, according to the Souths 2nds' supporters' club, Harry did not play well and should be dropped immediately for some reason (perhaps the supporters may like him to play for the 3rds?) Pearson made some storming runs and deservedly scored the very important goal with a looping push. The whistle blew earlier than expected and South finished victors.

LOM was hard fought with Pearson receiving a green for passing the ball back to the opposition, Dave for his career-focused transfer and even PTO making a special mention, but the winner was Greyvelling for getting the team lost during the warm up after just five minutes of being in charge. MOM was a clear winner and went to Paresh, not for the game but for the All Blacks winning their match today and closing in on the record for longest winning streak in rugby union even without McCaw or Carter in the picture. Who knows perhaps this could be the start of Souths winning streak…COTS!

Player of the Match

Paresh's knowledge of who Princess Anne actually is almost matched his skill on the pitch this week. As he moves backs in the formation he seems to improve. GK next??

Chris Graveling
Lemon of the Match

Stepping up to the auspicious role of captain, Graveling led the team to victory but not before getting them lost in a dark, scary wood.
