Spoiler Alert: This is not a Very Exciting Match Report

Stu Rimmer

An expectant South team arrived at a chilly Abbey pitch ready to pick up some points from Nomads. The game started at a high tempo with both teams going close early on after some sloppy defending at both ends. Nomads opened the scoring with a quick counterattack which made it's way around Jason, who was blinded by a bright sun bearing down on the pitch.

South responded well and put a series of chances together forcing a number of long corners and free hits around the Nomads D. Paresh stepped up to a short corner and pinged an equaliser in off the keeper's pads: one-one. Some wise words were shared during the half time team talk, something to do with discipline and passion (I can't remember) after which the second half carried on at much the same pace as the first.

Nomads clinched a jammy winner ten minutes from time after a strong run down the right channel and a deflection in front of goal. Jason made some awesome saves to keep South in the game but couldn't help us avoid another one goal loss.

Man of the match rightly given to Tom R for some solid defensive work and great chat.

Lemon was awarded to Rimmer (dubious decision) for a strong tackle (yellow card) in midfield two minutes from time which apparently didn't win the ball…

Next up: Norwich Dragons.
