The L3s have made some great improvements over the past few weeks, both in individual skills and team performance.

City are high up in the league table and are a strong and competitive side so we knew this wouldn’t be an easy game. We kept the score at nil-nil for a reasonable amount of time in the second half and I was beginning to wonder whether we might hold on for a draw…Never mind.

With Emma S in goal, Anouschka got a game outfield against her old club, making some good passes and staying calm under pressure. All the defenders were working hard, especially man of the match Lucy, who made lots of great tackles and clearances.

We’d been warned before the game that City like to aim for feet in the D to get short corners but, despite being alert to this, they still managed to get a lot this way and turned a few of them into goals.

Ash and Catriona had some strong runs up the wings but we couldn’t find the goal this time.

Overall a good team performance, and everyone continued to work hard up to the end.
