With Hazel MIA and Izzy lost with a car-full somewhere in the centre of Ely, it was touch and go whether we would have enough players to start the match.

Potential hazard areas on Ely’s, to put it politely, slightly aged pitch were noted by all (thanks, Kendra) and we were off to a great start when Izzy scored a cracker from a short corner.

There was some fabulous passing by South and some great team work, with newbie Kate working in some lovely diagonals with Roisin down the right.

Positive spirits a-go, and with Lydia getting a bit chilly back in goal, there were a further three goals from Izzy, two from Kate, one from Hazel and one for Kendra.

Mel made some beautiful runs in the second half and Kendra got herself in some great positions in the D.

MOM went to Izzy for her four goals, strong consistent hits from the shorts and fab dribbling. Lemon winner went to Hazel for thinking the Long Road meet was 12pm.
