South L3s came up against a Royston 2s side who have been getting stronger over the course of this season and, with no regular keeper available, they knew that things would be tough. After a five minute warm-up with Paul South (desperate for a hockey fix after the M4s' game was cancelled), Laura E did what any good captain would and volunteered to put the pads on. After a couple of goals right from the off, things were looking a little bleak but a gallant defensive performance, and an increasingly confident-looking outing from Laura between the sticks, kept the final scoreline to a relatively respectable 11-0.
