"I'm Blind!" But Managed to Play the Second Half…
Olivia DoggettThis week the L3s put in an impressive performance (again) against Bury St Edmunds, winning five-nil. (Although this was not quite the six-nil win Laurie was hoping for, we tried our best.) It’s fair to say we had a rocky start, with a casualty during the warm up and the loss of our forward line to the L2s, so thank you to Katherine, Lauren Brown and Emma for stepping in to ensure our game went ahead.
The first half of the match was noticeably played in our attacking end, with uncountable shots on goal but frustratingly none went in until just before half time thanks to Lauren and Katherine putting in a goal each. A slight change in the line up, an energy boost at half time and a strong recovery from Maria set us in more confident stead for the next half. We certainly gelled as a team and managed to put in three more goals, once again by Lauren and Katherine.
Although there were a few LoM moments, noticeably a lovely pass by Laurie to the opposition, Lou took a spectacular fall yet still managed to win the tackle from the ground and Jess Woodhouse has learned why we use our sticks to stop the ball, not our bodies. Despite the changes to the team our determination broke through and we played some lovely hockey together to continue our journey up towards the next division.

Trying to be far too stoic for her own good! A.k.a. going blind & having to have a wee sit down for the first half (please rest up!)
