A Short Precis
James MathewsA frosty morning pushed back push-back by fifteen minutes, and although a bit slippery from the damp, the surface was perfectly playable.
Mariano was back in defence, although only on loan as he couldn't make the 1s or 2s games.
The first quarter was fairly even before Nomads took the lead, slotting the ball past George who could do nothing about it
Towards the end of the first half, James drove down the right hand side, crossing it to Simon, who made no mistake from about five yards. One-all at halftime.
South had a couple of chances and were on top at the start of the second half, with the Nomads keeper making some decent saves.
Dom decided to do a sliding challenge from behind. The umpires showed a green card in appreciation.
Toby got a yellow for disagreeing strongly with the umpire. Nomads promptly took advantage of the numerical advantage to score.
South went all attack in the last ten minutes, with Neil the only defender at times, but to no avail.
On to next week, an away trip to Skegness. Hopefully everyone’s Christmas dinners will have been run off by this point…
