Cambridge South (Hockey’s Coming Home)

Harry Chalk

The M1s

It’s coming home,
It’s coming home,
It’s coming,
Hockey’s coming home

Everyone seems to know the score,
They’ve seen it all before,
They just know,
They’re so sure,

That M1s’ gonna throw it away,
Gonna blow it away,
But I know they can play,
’Cause I remember

Cambs South on a shirt,
Stu Rimmer still gleaming,
Two seasons of hurt,
Never stopped me dreaming.

So many jokes, so many sneers,
But all those oh-so-nears,
Wear you down,
Through the years,

But I still see that tackle by Rosselli,
And when Kemsley scored,
Shinny belting the ball,
And Oli dancing

Cambs South on a shirt,
Stu Rimmer still gleaming,
Two seasons of hurt,
Never stopped me dreaming.

It’s coming

Three points to summarise the match:

  1. Very competitive first half, going into half time at 1-1. Haz Lewis with a creative assist for TK to bang it down the middle. Went 3-1 down, but weathered the storm and finished the stronger team, ending 3-2. Shin K with the ball across for a Pearson finish.

  2. Brilliant effort for first pre-season friendly. Positives: Workrate, high press, open play chances. Shout out to Mikey for first green of the season and Jim for his superb beard. It’s coming home.
