The L4s were all looking forward to the first league game of the season. We knew St Neots would be a challenging side after having lost to them in a pre-season friendly. However the sun was shining and South were certainly up for the fight.

The first half of the match was fairly even with a good proportion of opportunities in our attacking half. Sadly though, we never manage to get the ball in the goal. While St Neots tried to fight back, the solid South defence did a great job of ensuring they never had a clear shot at goal.

The second half was much the same as the first half, but each side was incredibly determined to score. Following a series of short corners for both teams, neither managed to convert any of the opportunities into goals. However about three-quarters of the way through the second half, Naomi managed to beat the goalie to score the only goal of the game.

Kat won MoM for great running and passing in midfield. However the whole team did a great job, with some great passing and running. Let’s hope that we have started as we are set to continue!
