Moonlighting Cambridge South Style.....

Andy Thomas

A nice sunny day in Peterborough, but not too hot. Both sides had similar numbers of subs, and a similar mixture of ages. Simon Ta gave plenty of helpful hints before the match, or so I’m told … (Ed. does this suggest that you were late for the team-talk Andy? Now we have a reason for that LoM!)

A number of strong individual performances are worth noting. Ta number three (Brandon) made his debut, a great first game with lots of energy and great marking. Micro-Grove (Thomas) made some fantastic runs and was always in the right position. David Bridge showed great composure even when fighting against the odds.

Seb Dias had a busy day. After playing for South in the M3s game against Nomads, and being caught by John Gourd moonlighting for St Neots, we spotted him in the bar after our game!

Jo Dant got Man of the Match, either due to his fantastic saves or election fraud. Ky Ho was a close runner up, the opposition team having to tie-break. John Greaves managed to get a Lemon Vote despite not being on the team sheet.

Overall, it felt like a very even game. South had more possession, more time in the opponent’s half and probably made the fewest mistakes. The goals tended to be the result of defense being outnumbered on the turn. Communication will, I’m sure, improve in coming weeks.

Jo Dant
Player of the Match

Tied with Ky for MoM, settled by the opposition rather unfairly for assisting their victory!

Andy Thomas
Lemon of the Match

Also a rather unfair decision after having paid subs and 3 weeks match fees in one go!
