The Late Show

Zara Bradley

With a very late match the Fours were well rested and raring to go and craving a win following the morning’s rugby. Rain? Darkness? Very much hockey weather? Check. Zara’s grip? Not quite there.

The game started off well with strong possession from South working the ball between each other, making strong tackles and fantastic runs down the pitch, finding the space and using it effectively. The ball, along with Zara’s stick, occasionally going a little too fast and running away from us. Half time came and South had three goals in the net.

The second half started with South well hydrated by oranges and well-motivated by a speech from part time coach and subbing master, Izzy MP. We were ready to score some more goals. With our defence holding strong stopping any balls from coming through and holding play high up the pitch we fought hard and managed to get another three goals in. However one was disallowed due to a whistle blown just before the ball passed the line.

With a strong five-nil win the 4s were pleased to be finishing the day top of the table!

Katie Hunter got MoM for stepping up from defence to midfield and scoring a birthday goal, with Zara getting Lemon for occasionally forgetting that her stick isn’t attached to her hand and holding on to it is in fact a necessity.

Turns out when you extend the stick further than your arm your arm doesn’t go with it and the stick falls
