The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. The weather was at best changeable and rumours of South self-isolators were rife. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. Particularly if you’re Naomi or Tess – both fell over, the latter got LoM for it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as Emily S hit her short corner strike into the backboard for our eighth goal.

But it ain’t how hard you hit; it’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. Literally for some of our defenders this week. How much can we take from this season and keep moving forward into the league above? Well, we will channel Bhav’s insistence that we stay classy and always play excellent hockey. That’s how winning is done.

Kat G – MoM: amazing play, 2 fab birthday goals and she brought in an amazing cake to top it all. It was a delicious chocolate orange triumph (not Rocky Road).
Naomi G – MoM: battered and bruised, she went twelve rounds in this match. Still managed to bag a hat-trick. Naomi, we love you!
Tess – LoM: ‘Sat at the top of the D.’ ‘Fell over.’ ‘Hungover.’ I can only apologise and will mend my ways. If I can change and you can change, everybody can change.
