Despite the rain the team flew off the starting blocks, happy in the knowledge there was more than 1 sub this week! There was lots of linking play and excellent runs heightening the pressure in the City D. A wonderful run and cross by our latest pocket rocket Emily and handy touch by Tess resulted in Anna sealing the deal and finding the backboards for the first goal of the match! City came back on the counter attack in the lead up to half time. The defence did a super job working as a unit to hold the fort with Cassie bossing it in goal as always. However the overload continued and city secured their first goal just before half time. 

Emma earned POM for her relentless running and maintaining the intensity as the second half kicked off. Juliette continued that pressure into the D making 2 impressive shots on goal and unbelievably finding the posts! However with city on the back foot Tess seized her opportunity with super runs and passing shots and secured our second goal. Quickly followed by a third which was disappointingly disallowed. However the team remained positive and the legs prevailed. Defence continued to hold the line with the rest of the team coming back to support. However in the closing minute city mounted the pressure and slipped an equaliser into the corner of the net to finish the game. Overall a well fought, well run game with the whole team coming together and every individual shone. None more so than Anna who finished off the day by declaring her commando status and rightfully securing LOM.
