If only matches were 55 minutes
John GreavesA long and ultimately unrewarded day out in the fens, apart from lovely open skies, 55 mins of battling decent hockey, two good goals, and tasty teas.
Long Sutton had the better of the opening exchanges and deservedly took the lead after 15mins, driven on by a bloke called Gary who has popped up in higher echelons in the recent past. But the brave Southerners didn't fold, and grabbed the equaliser through Old Man Greaves loitering around in the D, who pounced onto a loose ball, controlled it and placed his shot perfectly inside the post.
Sadly the excitement proved too much and shortly afterwards he hobbled off the pitch with a mysterious (but Bl**dy painful) foot injury, leaving the remaining eleven to carry on the fight
This they did vey well, although Long Sutton went ahead once again with a breakaway attack through the otherwise solid back line of BridgePiperAliBurscough. Half Time, and a calm but authoratitive team talk from skipper and ace goalie Jo Dant.
The third quarter was the best period for the away team with Duracell Bunny 1 (aka Will Burscough) popping up everywhere, many good moves down both sides via our silky young wingers Birch and Greene, and midfield terriers Wilco Dijkstra and Ahmad Hassan. The second equaliser came deservedly via a high quality passing move involving dynamic man of the match Henry Greene on the left wing, Duracell Bunny 2 (Aka Ahmad Hassan), George Betts now pressed into service effectively up front, finished off by a cool James Yu
THen the final quarter. Four Long Sutton goals without reply against a tiring CSouth team. Nuff said
Nevertheless the M6s are improving, never give up, and remain hopeful of turning their regular podium appearances (aka second place in games so far) into some on the top step

Sick boy - something about not playing with electronic devices in the car otherwise I will feel ill. So he did, And he did
