Once upon a time...the L4s took a trip to Wilberforce Road in the cold and the rain. We were slipping all over the place and we even slipped the ball into the goal... 7 times to be exact past City's L6's keeper.

It wasn't long since the starting whistle went and the L4s were already 2 goals up...both before 10 minutes had passed on the stop watch and just minutes between the two. The first goal came from Amelia quick and accurate, shortly followed by one from Emily B.

This was then the perfect time for Naomi to rock up for the second time this day but not graced in the correct shoes.

Thursday night training clearly paid off as Claudia put number 3 away from a short corner. In her own words ''I would describe it as a quick deflection...Izzy told me exactly where to stand and how to position my body and stick. It worked".

South 3-0 City.

In the middle of the pitch Hannah and Becky were running round around like headless chickens and being everywhere at once. Their hard work paid off and another goal came in quick. Emily coming in again sending the ball into the back board.

(We then felt sorry for City and so let them get a goal but we won't talk anymore about that).

In the closing moments of the 1st half it was another goal through from Naomi.

Kea had stepped backwards down the pitch and into the goal and the smelly keeper kit. After asking us not to make it obvious that she wasn't our normal keeper...that was undone at the start of the second half were it felt like 20 mins for her to pop the kit on.

South 5 - 1 City at half time. We tried to bring the intensity we showed in the first half. However City came back much stronger and the second half and the game was then played across the whole pitch...rather than just South's attacking half.

The defence had to work now and with lots of man to man marking around the D on their breaks down the pitch.

More shorts and goals followed for South in the second half. Naomi gave a knock out performance in the second half...but with our excellent in-team medical team everyone was up and running again in no time.

With more attacks from both teams the final game was another for South with Amelia was in the D and another goal scored and added to South's tally.

And in no time at all Naomi was back with a goal. A nice reverse upright push which rolled over the goal line. 2 goals for Naomi and of course LOM.
