A judgemental Sagittarius
Alice WrightFor the benefit of Jess W, Libra’s horoscope for the month - Mercury is retrograde from September 9 to October 2. Communicator Mercury turns retrograde from September 9 until October 2, which can disrupt communication, travel and technology. For the first two weeks (until September 23), Mercury will reverse through your sign, making you feel invisible and misunderstood. Starting September 23—right as Libra season fully begins—Mercury will plunge back into Virgo and your twelfth house of hidden information, closure and healing (Elle.com). Mystic Jess is now offering personal readings to all - £60 an hour, 10% discount for CSHC members.
My day began with a delightful pre-match breakfast courtesy of Izzy – bacon, avocado, chilli jam and poached eggs on sourdough, 9/10 would recommend only let down for the poor positioning of the TV to watch the Kings speech. To the game – Bury smashed everyone in our league last year, and were rightly promoted up to East Prem for this season, and so it was with some trepidation we travelled to Culford school.
We started strongly - the new formation was working a treat (declared as so Fast and Fun by Mystic Jess), we welcomed back Kim playing FOUR MONTHS post second baby, Hannah S not looking like it was her first time back playing hockey in 3 years, Jenny T (an unpredictable Aries) chucking aerials from defence, and all working hard and supporting each other to create triangles, multiple passing options and doubling up on Bury players to win back the ball all over the pitch. Our goal came from a quick counter-attacking move, finished off via a great run from MOM Katie G calmly beating the keeper to put us in the lead.
I’d like it officially recorded here that I pulled out of a certain goal scoring opportunity in the 2nd quarter in order not to kill Izzy (an ungrateful Cancer) standing in front of me, and instead hit the post trying to avoid her. Was she thankful for my sacrifice? – ‘next time just take the shot, it’s the way I’d like to go’.
Bury put more and more sustained pressure on us into the final quarter – but some last ditch defending, quick subbing, and managing to keep 11 players on the pitch (very unlike the L1s under pressure) kept them at bay. The Jennys (both Swedish and German) also received MOM votes for stepping in front of everything that moved, and new keeper Boo had another impressive game to keep a clean sheet. Kate (a judgemental Sagittarius) and I shared LOM votes – Kate for comments after being less than impressed by some of Bury’s more physical play and a sit down in protest, and me for being knocked off my feet by the power of my own passing. Overall a great game and challenge for us, just shows what an encouraging team atmosphere can do - WE BEAT A PREM SIDE!
