M4 1-3 Cambridge South Mens 3
Matt NeedWe started off with a lot of optimism of getting the unprecedented victory. That mood began to squash when the 3s gained short after short.
As the 1st half drew to a close we began to realise that they hadn't scored a short, our keeper was playing a blinder and we actually playing really well. Hope was increasing. At half time it was 0-0 and the 4s were buoyant. Keep doing what we're doing and you never know.
The second half started and a reverse stick short slammed into the bar. Still 0-0, maybe luck was on our side. The 3s kept pressuring and the goals weren't going in, we began to have a few chances and pressures of our own. But then we went down to 10 and the 3s finally got the goal. If only we could pull one back… In a moment of pure elation, it happened – the ball was deftly passed across the face of goal for Jamie Coltman and his trademark back post finish.
After celebrating like we'd won the league, we sadly had to play another 15 minutes. Maybe we could get a second and really put a spanner in the works? Unfortunately, the 3s carried on pressing and retook the lead with a well taken short (they had to score one eventually).
One goal later and the game ended as a hard fought, 3-1 loss.

Beating two players and cleanly hitting the ball toward goal. Unfortunately this was 5 seconds after whistle and earned him a green
