This weekend, the L6s went up against Ely City 3s. We welcomed two Hollies from the L5s, who slotted in perfectly with our very own Nicky S. in the forwards to deliver a great match. They particularly enjoyed the “positive energy” that our team brought to the game, despite the high wind, sandy pitch and limited subs. Perhaps that’s what helped us consolidate the 1-0 win. Or was it left-half Lauren, who tirelessly defended our goal-end and cleared the ball right out of the D in a nail-biting short? Was it last week’s PoM Esther, who reliably positioned herself on the right, always an option for a mid in distress? It might have been Eleanor M., who consistently picked the ball from an opponent and ran it into the D. Who’s to know. What we can be sure of is that the win was well-deserved.
