Triangles, Triangles, Triangles

South knew this was going to be a hard game with their oppositions sitting at the top of the table, 3 points was going to be a challenge. So instead, the girls choose to focus on the 3-pointed shape – a triangle. With a strong training session earlier on the week, triangles were the main aim of the game and although the game didn’t quite go the way we would have liked, the triangles were beautiful. Helping us out of tricky spots in the corners or driving the ball up the line the 3’s really mastered this illusive three-pointed shape.

The first half showed some great battles from the team with some of us even putting our bodies on the line; Ginny’s chest and Tess’s behind to name a couple. Fabulous defensive work fought off numerous short corners and with some fabulous saves from Lydia, the half ended 2-0.

The second half was no different to the first with the inner working tireless to get back and defend as well as driving the ball up the pitch. Unfortunately, due to a quick off the line keeper, who shut down the attackers efficiently, we were unable to build on the goals of week, leaving the final score was 0-5.

However, a great game and well fought to the end, which was reflected by the number of different POM nominees, but the winner this week was Ginny, who not only put her body on the line for the game but also saved a goal on the line. LOM was a little clearer with the typical tumble in addition to a sarcastic comment to the opposition this week - LOM was Rhi.
