Skip challenge

Sarah Haddow

South packed their cars and skipped along to Spalding.  Unfortunately we blinked in the first 10 seconds and south were 1-0 down.

Maddy got a goal in 10 minutes - quick turnaround! Laura passed it to Maddy and Maddy score bottom left. Well done Maddy! (She saved her split celebration for the second half - joint LOM).

A sudden yell from Jenny to ‘change it up’ and south changed their formation mid first half.
Half time 1-1. Jenny gave a cracking team talk (and supplied the most solid wine gums known to mankind).

Second half started well, however spalding scored on a break to lead 2-1. However, we rapidly brought brought it back to a draw with a firing pass to Emma who was on the p spot who slotted it in. 2-2.

Another break play by Spalding, with their speedy forwards passing and scoring 3-2.

In the last minute of the match south won a short corner.... Jess injected to Katie, who did a beautiful sweeping pass to the back post and found Maddy who deflected it in the goal… however Spalding defence decided to kick it out of the goal which the umpire failed to see (despite staying a metre away from the action).

Lucia bravely stood up to take the flick, but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. South lost 3-2.

LOM to Saz for skip challenge (video available on request).

Mom to Jess for great runs and for being everywhere.
