In summary, Kettering scored in the first 2 minutes whilst we all mentally turned on. Thankfully, the first two minutes was a wake up call for us and we fought a hard match. We had our chances and a glimpse into the future of how great we really are when we do dominate.

No more goals came until the second half for Kettering, but there’s no denying, at times we did scare their defence. We held the game at 3-0 for the remainder, with our defence doing a beautiful job (a few memorable moments mentioned below). Overall an incredibly hard fought game by the whole team with POM’s being distributed around the team, with Luisa winning the overall vote.

• Luisa had a goal line save and picked a beautiful ball in from Kettering on her reverse
• Indi fell on her own stick. Right by the Kettering sub bench who were recording it and laughing. (LOM worthy). She also ate a banana half way through the second half - not the right time
• Hannah thought indoor hockey was played in village halls (LOM worthy) and got a ball to the face with a few expletives
• Anne-Marie and Hannah came out of no where every time to save the day
• Lucy got overloaded with 4-1 every time but continued to persevere like a champ holding the left
• Lydia had a lot of cracking saves and kept us in the game.
• Louisa W was an inner/ forward for this game. Did you enjoy it? She beautifully dribbled through 3 very skilful Kettering players too
• Charlotte and Emily B had some wicked runs up the pitch. They’ll be bossing it in no time. But a great Kettering goalie held us back
• Anna W came to help out with the marking and beautifully skilled their confused players in their D- multiple times
• Emma had a super calm and composed game on the right holding us beautifully, channelling their speedy left
• Anna L did her bit and gave blood on Friday and played beautiful hockey on Saturday. Did you wait 24hours Anna?
• Suzi had a hard-fought game in the middle too holding it well and doing some awesome distribution
