Slip Slidin' Away
Richard BarrettHaving a mixed hockey game following the a night socialising to celebrate the last game of the season affected some members of the team in different ways today. For some it meant not feeling fully alive until the start of the second half and for others it meant almost slipping over in the only patch of mud that was the surviving the surprisingly warm weather we had had all morning.
That said, after a few minutes into the game the team began to jell well, working the ball from the defence up through the midfield to the forwards, which helped give South an early lead. Stortford did have a number of chances, which were fought off well with saves from Joe and strong defensive effort, including some impromptu juggling from George T. However South won out, with Charlie scoring following some close attempts of taking around the keeper from a break and Ash also scoring two (one outright and robbing Pedzi of another). Bishop Stortford 0 - 3 Cambridge South
