It was a glorious sunny afternoon and the most eager of the L5s and L6s joined forces to take on Bury’s L5/6s development squad. It took time for both teams to settle into their own rhythms. Short corners at both ends were unsuccessful at getting the ball over the line. The first half ended with a clean score sheet.
 

The second half began with a dismal pushback (worthy of lemon of the match) from South. We managed to salvage the situation and with some great team work the ball finally managed to dribble over the line between the keepers legs. Despite the hot sunshine we had some great defence from Ruth and Sophie, and fabulous mid field play from Esther, Ellie and Lou. With just minutes to spare Nicky P made a fabulous pass to Nicky S who smacked it in to the back of the net. The final score was 2-0 getting both the L5s and the L6s off to a positive start for the new season.
