Calippos and Cartwheels
Sarah DoddsOur last friendly before the season started with watching some lovely hockey from the L2s.
After a quick warm up and realising quite how hot it was we decided to play in bibs in the hope to keep us cooler.
This earned me lemon as I had a minor panic halfway through changing as I couldn't remember if had a sports bra on.
Anyways, on with the game.
There was some hockey.
In the haze of the heat all I can remember is some fantastic runs from Kerryn, earning her joint POM with Jules, who scored a brilliant goal, summed up below in a lovely poem from Rhian
My man is Jules,
She left the oppo like fools,
An open goal,
Could not have been foretold,
Bish bash bosh
There was a bit more hockey, Stortford may have scored a few goals too and then at half time we called it quits as we were all too hot and enjoying our calippos too much.
(Thanks for those Maddy! You've set a high standard for half time snacks with ice creams, oranges and sweets on offer)
While waiting for the post match pizza the day was rounded off with Rhian leading us through a cartwheel routine. And so remember ladies, present your eggs!
