After the heat of last weekend, the L6s were looking forward to a cooler affair to kick off the league. Although it was cooler than last week, still maybe a bit sweaty for our liking. The 6s were ready to go with not one, not two but three subbing plans that covered all eventualities.

The game started like a dream, a goal for South before Peterborough had really touched the ball followed by another quick goal to bring us 2-0 up in the first 10 minutes. Two more goals in the first half brought our tally up to 4 with 2 goals apiece for both Immy and Charlotte.

We continued the strong form in the second half with Immy getting her third goal for the hat-trick and Pedzi scoring her first.

The play from South can be summarised as excellent possession based play and taking our opportunities from set pieces.

Huge start for the season for the L6s in a game where everyone played amazingly. A great platform to build on from here.

The only fault in the day was Ruth getting distracted and forgetting to finish the “three cheers” chant. She promises to do better next time and practice in anticipation for the game next week.
