Top of the class?
Lucy VriesFirstly, there was a notable absentee, school absence letter dutifully supplied – Katie Mulholland, we hope you had the most wonderful wedding day, the whole team sending you all the love xxx
Goal Scoring – Exceeds Expectations
First half – no goals.
Second half – 2 goals. The umpires somehow managed to miss the fact the ball did indeed cross the line twice in the second half. Alas, the second goal made up for it. Starting back in our own 25, a silky pass from Evie to Emma, who then delivered a perfectly weighted ball just before the top of the d to an awaiting Izzy. Who taking initiative, cooly and level headed (what else) dribbled the ball into the d, waited patiently for the goalie to come out before taking it round her and calmy as you like slotted it between the waiting goal posts.
Passing – Needs Improvement
Slightly harsh review but we can’t be perfect everywhere, leaves us room to target weaknesses. At times, the passing was beautiful, coming into its own with all the types of triangles, obtuse, acute, scalene to name but a few. Triangles work miracles and make a mockery of the oppositions defence. However, there is room for improvement, with support and listening to Headmaster Winter, looking for the easy pass back, not attempting to go through a flat stick and releasing the ball a fraction sooner, soon our passing will easily be top of the class.
Defence – Top Of The Class
Uni had quick runners, fitness and moved the ball nicely between their mids and forwards. They also managed to monopolise in our d and win a few short corners. However, they were no match for our defence, who kept a clean sheet, with some solid tackles and stunning zonal marking.
Half time sweets – Exceeds Expectations, no room for improvement – Squashies all day, every day.
Another good performance to the start of the year, with continued class attendance, top of the class beckons.
