The L4s won today. It was a brilliant game and loved every minute of it, and because I loved it so much I’m going to write it down here so it’ll forever be ingrained in my brain.

The first half of the game was a fantastic display of triangles, keeping possession and beautiful passes that meant we dominated the first 15 minutes to which we scored our first goal from a deflection by the oppo that Beth (I believe from a mid aerial) volleyed it in the goal #TopBins. Since then everyone wanted a piece of the cake, and fought to get more goals where the next one came but shockingly was disallowed, I was in bits! Alas we did not falter, and a wonderful opportune moment came with another goal from Amelia with a nerve wracking one on one with the keeper #SheWasSpeed.

Half time chat, and even better half time sweets.

We go again and the Pelicans (car chat thoughts: why were they called the Pelicans? Are Pelicans native to Kings Lynn? Can we get Pelicans in the UK? Many questions, many unanswered) fought to keep us at bay but as we strongly defended our D with a brick wall of a back line and a mightier tower of Lou who absolutely refused to let a goal in we stood strong. We were so strong on the pitch that Elle thought to start her smear campaign off the sidelines of the pitch #ShouldveGoneToSpecsavers #WhoseSideAreYouOn.

The second half came with bountiful of goals - a deflection from Beth, a textbook short corner goal by Bex and the tidiest short corner id ever seen because as I stood top D as a back up for this, I saw the smoothest, most satisfying and most delicious 1-2-1-2 triangle (which later I learnt was code 4 in their line ups for short strategies) for it to go in; a strategy that was learnt in training and as it was beautifully tapped in we celebrated because theory was put in practice and we hope to have done Izzy proud #ThatWasForYou.

The end came with a tumble from Avi #Shock and another disallowed goal by Mo (she was robbed) however Bex came to avenge her by finishing the official score of 5-0. A tidy game for a tidy team.

POM votes were cast wide to the team with special mentions to Becky D, Beth, Lou, and Avi

LOM almost unanimously went to Elle with a mention for Avi on her demonstration of a roly poly.

Only onwards and upwards from here.
