After a great win last week, the L4s were optimistic for our clash with the so-far unbeaten Bourne Deeping. We had some great support for our sunny yet chilly start at Long Road from Coach Ed and later Coach Izzy - thanks guys!

The pressure came thick and fast from Bourne Deeping 1s, but great defence from Shree, Laurie, Elle and Nic kept them at bay. Sélène had a stand out performance saving goal after goal. It looked like we might make it to half time with a clean sheet. Unfortunately a foot in the D led to a short corner that was slipped in behind Sélène.

South came back with some great attempts on goal from Amelia and Anna that wouldn't quite make it over the line. Bourne Deeping got a goal on the break approximately 10s before the half time whistle blew.

Some sweets and a team talk and we were ready for a come back.

Bourne Deeping had other ideas though. Some confusion amongst the mid field led to a quick goal from them. We then lost concentration somewhat and another 4 slipped in quick succession. Oops.

We pulled ourselves together and got back on the attack having a fair amount of play in their 23 with some great runs from our midfield and forwards. The game felt much more even than the scoreline reflected, finishing 8-0 to then.

POM was a three way tie between Shree (great interceptions, legs and tackles), Sélène (for great saves) and Amelia (great runs).
LOM was Elle for some sock confusion at the start of the game.
