Clean up in aisle L3

Katy Borgeson

Navigating the hockey pitch aisles, our South team faced off against City in a match akin to a sophisticated shopping trip at Waitrose. Emma, Mel, Hannah, and Jess formed a robust defense, protecting Lydia's goal like carefully selected items in a cart.

Katy B and Katy H expertly swept through challenges, orchestrating defensive maneuvers reminiscent of shoppers weaving through crowded aisles. In the midfield, Daisy, Connie, Ella, and our forward trio of Tess, Charlotte, and Beth skillfully orchestrated their plays, aiming for a triumphant checkout.

Despite the diligent efforts, City dominated the scorecard. Yet, in the final minutes, Charlotte swooped in to score our lone goal, like finding a rare item just before the store closes.

Lydia's impeccable goalkeeping earned her the prestigious title of Player of the Match – a gem in our shopping basket of achievements. On a lighter note, Katy B, leaving a key item off her shopping list, claimed the Lemon of the Match for leaving her gum shield behind.

As the final whistle echoed like the beep at the checkout, Connie, our midfield maestro, reflected on the challenging match with a much needed visit to Waitrose.
