What. A. Match.

I started the day by watching Bad Sisters, hoping to find some tips and tricks from the Irish gals to take down the 2's Irish centre back (Nicky Fenny xx), sadly their attempted murders didn't quite seem appropriate for the Derby match.
After a jolly lunch with my team 'mates' I headed to the match. It was a long journey being it an away game, I'd estimate it took me c.47seconds longer to get there than a home match, so already i felt on the back foot.
Being at an unfamiliar pitch, having previously played 4s and never having had to play Cambridge South 2s, I struggled to find the away changing room, this on top of being disorientated by having just watched the 4s anhilate Newmarket 2s at what I thought was my home pitch. Some things just don't add up.
There was then some warming up, a happy birthday song sung (happy birthday sélène) and names and positioned dished out. I was to play left back with Immy and Hannah supporting me on the back line. I let Katie Hunter warm up with me, she seemed OK.
The game started and 10 other girls in yellow tops tried hard to receive my passes and win for me. Unfortunately the ladies in purple sent some balls into my goal and they took the win.
Overall I played really well and generally made sensible, composed decisions.
Not only do I live with an international pop sensation (Dua Lipa) but I am lucky enough to be coached by international jetsetter, England hockey coach, Timothy Winter. I was so happy to have him supporting me and team 'mates' this week, I couldn't help but feel extra lucky having him coaching us today as I have just found out he coaches all the teams at South (see m1s insta)!
The other ladies in yellow sound like they had a good game and decided to vote for 2 worthy players of the match, Indi for top dog interceptions and Immy for classy composure.
Sadly my team 'mates' completely misread my highly well executed skilled scooped ball out of our D as Tom foolery so landed me with lemon. This is despite having our very own bend it like Beckham, Hannah Muncey on the pitch... or not as the case may be. Stick to racquet and stick sports Hannah.
Luckily we finished just in time for Connie to get on over to Tesco, I wonder if aldi will be on the cards next week...
