Super chewy sports mix power L6s to another win

Georgia Grand

This match day was off to a good start for South as the vast majority of the team arrived on time, captains included. It started to drizzle as the L6s were enjoying a lengthy warm-up. G even had time to find Lyra a headband to retain her newly heat treated curtain bangs.

Ely City took pushback and the 6s were off. The defence could rest easy for a bit while midfield had good control of the ball, passing around opposition players. There did come a few moments of pressure at the back as the first half pushed on but the defence were buoyed by their clean sheet record and kept their cool. The L6s were knocking on the door and felt like a goal was coming. Coach Chris had just arrived and was expecting big things. Around 25 minutes in there was a neat spell of passing between Lyra and G, ending in a first goal for Nicky. The team were glad to hear the half time whistle as fatigue was settling in from the hard work early on.

The sports mix chewy wine gums at half time revived the group. G (LOM) happily set off with Ruth's stick and played a good amount of the second half with her newly acquired accessory. Both teams settled in and it looked pretty evenly matched. Sophie E was a solid midfield player, making accurate passes and excellent leading runs. This has been noted by South players week in, week out, and earned her POM today. POM was also awarded to Lou, who did a good job of holding up the ball patiently and waiting for the pass.

There was another goal for South arising from a slight fumble in the D. The 6s were happy with that, and finished the game with a clean sheet. Happy days!
