Jingle bells, jingle (hockey) balls, jingle all L4s great game play!

I’d had hoped me arriving somewhat not at pushback and attempting a witty match report badly would help the luck side of things. However the match may have started with a nomad goal I did not see that I think we should all pretend to not have seen. 
However only 1-nil down south were still ready to fight back. Things were looking up with some great positioning from the mids and forwards. Especially Liv, Cat, Camille and Olivia making fab attacking opportunities. Some great powerful passes out our D from Ell and Ellie to be received well by me, Naomi and Louisa.
I’ll quickly add the not so important second goal to them that unfortunately slipped through Selene’s pads…
But moving on swiftly to Shree’s amazing goal line save! Which obviously annoyed Nomads enough to take her out resulting in the first green card of the match.
South were again looking promising and making moves. Brilliant inceptions for Shree and awesome defending from Ellie rewarding her the player of the match deservedly. 
Another unfortunate goal to Nomads with a flick into our net did not reflect the Souths beautiful defending and efforts.

South kept fighting in the second half. A second green card to Liv who dramatically tried to take another player out whilst falling herself… giving her the lemon of the match.
With even better play up front and awesome saves from Selene it was a shame we couldn’t better the score. The match ended 4-0 to Nomads but with high hopes for the new year. 
And with that wrapping up 2023 matches we’ll bring the green cards and the green light for Christmas celebrations.
Hopefully Santa brings a new hockey stick and leaves a good hat trick for 2024. Hockey holidays folks!
