Another very fun game for the L4s – but this time with the right result!  It didn’t look like this would be a definite before the start – players trickling in late for the warm up (a stolen bike battery, late dog walking in Essex, being too casual on the supermarket run were just a few of the excuses), some hurried goalie kicker adjustments to accommodate Emma’s tiny feet and then, not long in, we lost Ellie mid ball chase who had to pull up for a hamstring injury after some stellar work at centre back.  But despite all this, it was soon pretty clear that this was our game and it was just a question as to when we would score.

There was brilliant tackling and distributing from our screen and inner gang of Grace, Katie, Louisa Liv and Camille and fabulous runs from forwards Bex, Mo, Amelia and Beth.  Yes, Pelicans did break through a few times, but nothing tested whether Emma’s kickers really did fit, with Anne, Nicole and Luisa mopping up everything and delivering excellent passes back up through the midfield.  

Three very different goals were scored – one of Amelia’s two came with a scoop over the keeper and Mo roofed the final goal in a dramatic finish.

POM went to Grace – excellent all round play and some dangerous runs into the D – and Katie – a superb South debut with great steps to win the ball again and again.  LOM went to Grace for that little slide!
