It was a surprisingly mild start to the afternoon as the L5s gathered at the pitch. This was an important match for the L5s with a lot of teams in our league on 15 points – it was vital the L5s get off to a roaring start.

In the first half the team pushed hard with end-to-end play and a couple of chances to score, but not quite getting that elusive goal. The passes were clean and the drills we had been practicing in training were clearly paying off. The first half ended 0-0. We rallied back at half time filled with sweets and drive to get that goal. Sadly Bourne Deeping managed to pop the ball above our GKs shoulder and score the first and last goal of the match.
