L1’s school trip
Sophie DixonStrap in for a ride to rainy Ipswich for a 4pm pushback…
The game was much like a school bus trip, but with A* performances all round from a class unlucky to take home top marks (3 points).
The overall journey was a bumpy ride and started off with a flat tyre only 5 minutes in when Ipswich scored. Loopy, who is always the first to shot-gun a seat at the back of the bus, sadly couldn’t stop that one. 1-0.
No need to worry though, as it didn’t take long for our A* student in DIY, Maddy T, to come to the rescue and fix the puncture by scoring to make it 1-1. We were on our way again.
Throughout the journey, Evie kept up her excellent Cat. H. And Katie, an A* student in Geography, navigated the bus (ball) to where it was meant to be at all times.
I provided some bus entertainment with some impressive acrobatics. However, this was found to be against school rules and I was told to sit back down (write a match report).
Half time stop. Snack choice: fizzy haribo.
Kate our Headteacher gave us a good speech and made sure we all behaved as we were supposed to.
Ipswich didn’t do as our headteacher had said however, and during the second half a couple of their students earned a detention (green card) for poor behaviour.
For most of the second half of the journey, our bus was flying along. This included All Star skills from big Hannah, our Star of the Week (MOM).
Kim the DISCO bus driver kept us in lane for the whole trip, with only one or two road rage moments. One to note was telling some members of an Ipswich Men’s team in the slow lane (side line) to stop booing and be quiet.
Izzy sat up front, like the child who always gets car sick. But her journey was a success when she completed it with a goal from a short corner to put South 2-1 up. The bus was bouncing!
Kerryn, Lucy and Soph H were well behaved students in the middle of the bus, working tirelessly to finish their homework (get the win).
Unfortunately homework was not completed on time as Ipswich managed to score against the run of play to make it 2-2.
Carrie and Nic joined Loopy at the back of the bus for a secure, steady journey (game). Nic also found herself in charge of lost and found, recruiting a lost hairbrush at the end of the day.
After a long journey, a classic school dinner was served. Jacket potato, cheese and beans.
Overall, lots of good marks to take from the day, despite feeling slightly ‘robbed’.
See you all on the next adventure x
