How to tell when its raining...
Polly LockyerWe made our way to face the Bourne Deeping 2s in the University of Bedfordshire in Glinton (not Linton, and also not the University of the West of England - Lauren).
Once we had all arrived we huddled under shelter from the rain waiting for the game before ours to finish. Polly earned herself LoM for asking the question 'whats that thing you can do to find out if its raining where you are?' to which Fi responded 'put your hands out and feel if they get wet?'... for anyone interested I did infact mean the website 'weather radar'. Another LoM vote went to one of the carpools which was a little late to the pitch having stopped for some much needed fuel (food fuel not car fuel)!
Luckily, the rain stopped in time for us to warm up, and there was even a little bit of sun resulting in a rainbow over our pushback.
The game commenced. The mid-field had their work cut out with alot of movement of the ball between ends of the pitch. The defenders were also put through their paces by the oppositions attacking side who were persistent and eventually unfortunately managed to get a ball past our solid goalie/zebra/gazelle Zehra.
The second half of the game was balanced, with alot of of movement of the ball between ends of the pitch, and with a few breaks towards goal for the attackers which had been few and far between in the first half. No more goals were scored, but I couldn't help but feel that with a few more minutes of gametime we would have equalised.
An unfortunate loss to humble the 5s following an epic 10-0 win last week, but with excellent play nonetheless reflected in the diversity of POM votes, ultimately won by Zehra for her fantastic work in goal!
