Tim, how are your stress levels?
Izzy MacDonald-Parry1-0 down at half time. Was it because City are better than us? No. Was it because we couldn’t string more than 2 passes together? Without a doubt. The last three games poor Tim has watched have been a 1-0 win, 0-0 draw, and 1-1 draw at the literal 11th hour. I would say we’ll try and make it less stressful, but I’m not sure I can guarantee that.
So, City were winning 1-0 at half time. Tim gave us a telling off for being sloppy. Second half; renewed energy, renewed fight, renewed agg and accusations flying around. In the 69th minute of the game (thanks v much Neil for keeping track) we put away a drag flick from a short. Must learn to do things earlier on. One positive being that Long Road is next to Addenbrooke’s so if we do send Tim over the edge it’s only a short trip for him. Nigel D’Cruz wondered over to Kim at the end to tell us he was surprised we didn’t win - ‘you girls were all over them in that half’.
For those that have read the Lemon reason, ‘whine, whine, whine’ was a comment I made about the opposition. I stand by it. I must also admin to small amount of whining myself, sorry Matt. I was also voted for shouting South too early, entirely Kate’s fault. Kate secured herself MoM this week for generally being a nuisance to City.
On to the drama; Hannah got called an *expletive* cheat by a player who kicked the ball and tried to play on. Irony. Evie got a green card for ‘intentionally’ kicking the ball away. She maintains she just has long legs and big feet. Kerryn deflected a ball in to a players head, obviously by accident. Player was fine. A ball deflected by City then flew at my head, so we’ll call it evens? Charlotte got taken out by the GK and then Izzy P got shoved over by a player in the span of 2 minutes. One of City’s defenders went down in the D when surrounded by 3 South players, she was taken out by divine intervention as far as we could tell. City, to their credit, did make us work hard. Unfortunately, we also made ourselves work harder than was potentially necessary.
Lessons learned - you have to fight to the very end, but if you play well from the start the whole game is much easier. A draw can feel like a win if you leave it late enough.

Goal celebrations like we’d won the champions league - 1/1

Groin - 0/1

Charlotte’s L1s debut*** - 1/1
*Tildy and Kate’s mum made friends on Tildy’s mum’s supporter debut. We loved it. Kate’s mum outdid herself with raspberry muffins at teas (1/1 in their own right). Should this be 2/1? Don’t want to upset the 6s by messing with the rating system.
**Izzy S gained herself an entire bicep bruise
***1/1 quite underplays Charlotte’s performance, a fantastic debut.
